I fish by myself or with my wife (which is essentially fishing by myself for practical purposes) most of the time. I try and avoid anchoring because it tends to be a hassle and messy in the front of a 20ft hydrasports DC. Anchoring under the bridge and managing the current at the same time is very difficult and stressful.
Would an anchor windlass be an overkill on this boat? Would it be helpful. I am not a seasoned waterman by any stretch of the imagination so please break down the basics of their function like... When they are used? How they help? Disadvantages? Practical implications?
Thanks.
