The Lowrance fishfinders are top of the line. You can add a broadband sounder to a Globalmap 8200 (8.4" screen), or the Lcx37 and you will have a superior sonar fishfinder, and
you will not need a high dollar transducer.
If a Garmin gps/chartplotter rates an a+, then the Lowrance models rate an a-.
I have both but the bang for the buck and ultimate versability its lowrance hands down. Bill ps I added a radar and fuel monitor too boot all seemless plug and play
Thanks for the replies, Where would be the best place to buy?. Some recommend BOE .
Prices seem pretty completive from what I'm seeing online.
i brought my radar and my 38chd fron a marine store that sells on ebay.brand new with the lowrance warrenty. i save $600 on the 38c and $400 on the radar. the broadband sounder is great holds bottom at high speed

Thanks I'm going to check at BOE and talk with Jim.
Thanks once more everyone.
PUGGS; Or anyone else.. How does that new stuff work offshore? I have had Lowrance LCX-15, 16a, 19 and the 110 on my last boat over the years. I was never satisfied with the transom mount ducer. I also had a series of transducer failures, four to be exact. I have been holding out for the Furuno NAVNET 3D, but it looks like it will never get here and what has been delivered has not held up to expectations as far as zoomed in map detail goes. I may be going back to Lowrance, I do like the display heads and only had issues with the ducers. Maybe the BB ducer has solved past issues.
