NORTH CAROLINA SALTWATER FISHING REPORTS: North Carolina Offshore Fishing and Inshore Fishing: Updated August 22, 2010

Its been a while since we got the NC reports updated, but its been a very busy summer around here. Fishing around North Carolina has been great over the past month. The inshore and surf fishing has really heated up with catches of flounder, drum and even some striped bass. Offshore, the standard summer fare of many dolphin and the occasional billfish have held up. Good luck on the water!

Oregon Inlet Reports:
August 20, 2010 Fishing Report:
Offshore was dolphin and some white marlin releases. Nearshore and Inshore had flounder, blues,spanish and albacore. Headboat reported fair flouders. Boats arrive in daily between 4 and 5 in the afternoon, come on down and check out the catches of the day.

August 19, 2010 Fishing Report:
Offshore catches consisted of lots of dolphin and a good showing of white marlin. Sixtreen whit marlin were caught and released. At least one party got good video of white marlin taking to the air. A good size wahoo was caught It looked to me to be around 40 pounds. Inshore Tailor bluefish spanish mackerel and false albacore. Both the bluefish and false albacore are numerous. The bluefish were caught leaving ample time to pursue albacore. One open boat treated young people to some exciting shark fishing. Others caught False albacore and tailor bluefish. There were some amberjacks caught. Miss Oregon Inlet caught flounders.

August 22, 2010 Fishing Report:
Surf Fishing Report: Bluefish, Sea Mullet and Spot.
Sound Fishing Report: The Little Bridge on the Nags Head/Manteo causeway reported Croaker and Spot.
Avalon Pier: Sea Mullet. A 53 lb King Mackerel was decked yesterday.
Nags Head Pier: Few Blues.
Outer Banks Pier: Big spot run all day long on Saturday and Spot biting this morning.
Inshore Boats Report: Good wreck fishing brought in lots of Grey Tilefish and Black Sea Bass. Bluefish, Spanish, Triggers and Flounder. There were Speckle Trout reported caught in the Roanoke Sound.
Offshore Boats Report: Off shore fishing is good. Limits of Dolphin, scattered Tuna and White Marlin were caught on Saturday.

August 21, 2010 Fishing Report:
Surf Fishing Report: Sea Mullet and Bluefish.
Sound Fishing Report: The Little Bridge on the Nags Head/Manteo causeway reported Black Drum, Croaker and small Flounder.
Avalon Pier: Blues, Sea Mullet, Spot and Spanish.
Nags Head Pier: Sea Mullet Blues and Spot.
Outer Banks Pier: Blues, Spot and Spanish.
Inshore Boats Report: Blues, Spanish, Albacore and Flounder.
Offshore Boats Report: Plenty of Dolphin and White Marlin releases.
