I can tell you the females pushed the males away from our line this morning !!

Guy in head of creek today, all males ( only two females ). We were in the mouth, mostly females.... 1 bushel females vs. 1.5 doz males.

I'll be closer to the head this weekend.

Females like it salty...Males like it brackish

Go further upriver if you are getting pounded by females.

Talked to 2 crabbers today at the ramp...1 was at the mouth, and the other was WAY upriver....The guy at the mouth had almost all sooks...the guy way upriver said he never saw a sook.

Typical fall pattern

On 9/9 I was a quarter mile closer to the head of the river than another crabber who managed to get two bushels of sooks. We never saw one on our line, but did dip and release one that was swimming by. The only other female crabs we saw were 7 peelers (doublers) that we sluffed out.
