Just moved my boat over to Moratico and want to know the skinny on stripers around the area.Size fish?Location? When?
We catch fish consistently at the Whitestone bridge but was hoping to get into the action farther up.
Thanks in advance.

When they show up, you can fish the drift around red 8. Look for the merry-go-round and slip in.[smile]

I've got a place at Bush Park campground right down the road from you. I've caught up to 18' rocks in the creek on live spot.

JimmyZ,
I put my boat in on Bush Park Creek. Never have fished it though. I've seen people catching spot and croaker there. Are you catching the rock in the main channel?

We have trolled through the jetty past the sand bar in bush creek with buck tails and caught rocks. Also caught some nice flounder in the creek too.

There are no Rockfish to be caught in the Rappahannock!

I've had good luck fishing southside of the channel at buoy 13, not far from where you are located. Troll the channel edge with Stretch 25 in the morning.

TLT III,
I've caught spot, croaker, flounder, puppy drum, small blues & trout and small rock in the creek. Up to last year when I didn't have a boat I fished off the docks at the campground. I have had the most luck fishing off the 'beach' closest to the mouth of the creek.

Around the Bridge and the drop-offs in front of
Towles Point have produced real well for me!
Troll a Mojo/Umbrella as slow as you possibly
can and you will be in business.
