This fishing report is for the week ending 04-23-06
and is prepared by The Great Sailfishing Company which
operates out of the new Pez Vela Marina,Guatemala.The
fishing grounds for these past days have ranged from
15 to as far as 40+ miles. Seas have ranged between 1
to 3ft. with overcast days. The fishing was fair as
Guatemala standards go with fly anglers averaging in
the low to mid single digits. Those fishing
conventional were averaging mid single digits to as
high as 25 early in the week. In shore fishing has
picked up,yesterday (Sunday) one of our boats caught
11 jacks,12 Sierra Mackarel and a nice 35lb
Rooster-fish.We at the Great Sailfishing Company
hosted several professional fly fishing guides who
released 4 on the fly Saturday and 2 on Sunday,on both
days the Joint Venture raised 20 sails getting 8
