I've been reading lots of stellar reports about trips to the Norfolk lately. Unless I'm missing some there seems like radio silence about he Washington - are the fish quiet there currently?
Getting ready to take my Dad out next weekend and will probably have one of these destinations on my itinerary.

u read more about the Norfolk because thats where a majority of TF guys run out of - VB.
After these 2 strong cold fronts this week it might be a new world out there.

I'd have to bet that all along the 50-100f drop is holding fish. We fished on Friday where many did well on Sun-Weds and it was good but not hot...and the tunas were not really around for us...the bite that day was north of us by about 8-10 miles. We had plenty of other action to keep us happy...and we did not come within 2-3 miles of another boat all day. I've also heard from people fishing the Cigar that they are catching in 40-100 fathoms. Tuna and Wahoos...and the weeds are thick there as well.
Who knows what we'll see after this blow but I'll bet the big Bluefins are cruising the fingers as well...

Water temps 76-77 degrees and I heard 80 degrees reported.. fish will stay around until about 67-68.
I still dont think anyone limited out on tuna Friday anywhere. Not really "hot" of a bite by any means.

You're right Chad...by hot I meant a "bite"...some did well, some picked a few, I'm sure some did not get any.
Water temps seem to be holding pretty well...I hope it stays that way.

Its wasnt "stellar" I meant.. but hey, considering my non-catching this year, 5 pups would be stellar!!! ha ha

I know what you guys mean. My fishing luck has been way off the last year or so. It was nice to get out Friday and have a catch representative of the fleet's radio reports, even if they were small fish. I hope the bite stays around for a few more weeks, would be wonderful of it improves.

I'd like at least one more good sized tuna to stock the freezer for winter :)

Next chance I get, I'm heading to inside the Wash. Friend of mine killed them there yesterday on the chunk. All YF and all in 40-60# class.
