What's your budget? If you spend a lot of time offshore I would recommend Furuno NavNet.

This is how the Raymarine 120 looks flush mounted on my boat. The smaller version (80) is also nice... everything on one screen.

I just outfitted my boat last year with Raymarine electronics (C120 main unit) and couldn't be more pleased. The Furuno/Raymarine debate seems like a religious discussion more than anything, from what I hear they are both great.
So long as you get GPS/chartplotter, VHF, fishfinder and radar (optional but recommended) you're good.

Have been using flush mounted Raymarine C-80 (GPS, depth finder, radar) for two years and system performance has been excellent. Also easy to apply software upgrades downloaded off of Raymarine's website. No complaints here.

Also if you buy a complete raymarine package you will get like $500 back in rebates

NavNet is great but I just moved to a 44 Carolina Custom from a 31 Albe. When I was outfitting the Albe, since I wasn't going to add any electronics to the tower, Navnet was a little more expensive than buying separate components.
I had mostly Furuno: 1850 dgps-waas/ 582 sounder/ 24 mile radar and Simrad AP11 AP. All tied together thru NMEA. It is a slick system. Wasn't too bad either. You just have to compare prices. I used MidShore Electronics. If you are in MD, call Frank and tell him John sent you. I have now done three boats with him now. Great pricing and great service. 410-228-7335 I think.
I don't get any kickbacks and I am in no way connected with them. Just happy with their service.
Hope some of that helps.

i guess i am just old and jaded but i get annoyed at the all in one units, no matter how big, 10" or 12". never seem to be big enough to do any one thing properly for me.
I think the GPS and fish finder should be separate, the radar could be attached to either one, not a super high use item anyway. The Garmin is really tough to beat as a GPS, the 3010c is a super unit, the fishfinder either furuno or raymarine depending upon your religion.
usual suspects

Ditto tommy Tuna.I run all Ray equipment(got some good deals)I would take Furuno just as quick.Garmin makes a nice GPS but does not extend to other components as well as the other 2.Spend a little more for the better models( of the above mentioned )now,so you wont be sorry later.
BTW...How much for the 20 vector?

Furuno
Garmin does have a total package unit now too.
I wonder, and have never received a good answer, to the "What If" on the dependant units drop out, or a main controller dies. Are you SOL or are they engineered better than that.
If you have stand alone units using the nmea outputs and inputs(barring a major electrical malfunction) the others are still going strong when one part dies.
Wow do electronics get you into one of those major debate areas or what ?
Congrats on the new ride !!!
