Thats right over 100 blue ones were seen on friday alone! That is world class fishing right there! Multiple double and triple headers were hooked. It seems like the fish won however cuz there were only about 18 caught. On sat. it tapered off a bit but there were still 14 caught. Then on sunday it was about over[sad]. Oh well it was exciting to listen to the radio for sure.It seems the biggest concentration was the 180-400 and overboard.
We had people who were dead set on meat so we picked grass lines for the past couple of days and ended up with good gaffer catches. I was pulling my hair out with all of the action taking place, I live to catch those critters! I had 3 mackeral and 2 mulletts waiting on standby and never got the word to soak em, oh well, they will show again. On another note it seems like the tuna are starting to show, the water pushed in on the point dat before and whamo it was on! This is about the same way it started out last year, a slow spring and then in JUne it was on! We caught 390 tunas in June alone last yaer so hopefully it is gonna happen again, I can't wait to hear my captain say on the radio "holden on to 12". We'll see. On sun a boat out of pirates cove was fighting a tuna when a blue ate him and then died during the fight, he topped the scales at 636 I thinnk it was. Pretty nice fish for this time of year. Got the day off and then we have about 30 booked in a row. Take it easy. Over and out and praying for some pretty weather.
