Put together this animation from some of the MODIS images that have come to light lately. Thought it might help some, might make others cry. [sad]
Let me know if you want me to try and keep updateing the animation as newer data is made available.
Check my new post Satellite Animation, this one is now replaced

Thats a really neat idea - It would be interesting to try to correlate the shifting turbidity patterns with the weather over the observed time. Of course water patterns are different at different levels, so I guess a correlation between the two would be inexact.

Still, very cool.

Thats why I like fishing near the mouth of the Bay, water is usually cleaner due to tidal flushing.

Harry, that is awesome.
Thank you...
I'll tell ya what, I fished around the Bay Bridge this weekend. Vis was under 1 inch. Trees, garbage, and even a stray gas can were all over the place. Didn't even try to run to the Eastern side. 0% chance of not hitting something on the way. Even with the excellent shad and trout....I am one very discouraged fly fisherman. It really stinks when you hop on a boat and know that you don't even have a chance....I've felt this wayyyyy too much in the past two years. Getting tired of it.....[sad][sad][sad]

Cory,
Rub it in man. That hurts. Your waters are 3 hours from here. Time for another roadtrip.

Harry,
That is an awesome resource. I,for one, would love to be able to keep current with that data. Thanks.
