Susquehanna River/Deer Creek water quality report #2

Walked the river around Deer Creek this morning. As you can see from the picture the creek was not in great shape but the river was. The good news is the creek should clear in a few days; the bad news is the river will get worse as the water makes its way down from up north. On Wednesday I did see an osprey eating a shad/herring (not sure which) on the creek, also, more blue heron showing up every day. They most know something. Several people fishing the river north of the creek but did not see any fish caught.

Any update on Deer Creek? Have to think it's still high and muddy, but could be fishable by the weekend and with these warmer temps, the shad might start to show.

Normally it only takes several days after a hard rain to get the creek fishable again. Myself I’d rather fish in off colored water during the shad run. I’ll try to give water quality updates and temps as the season progresses. Most days I work the creek and river so if you need more specific information shoot me a bmail.

I was across the dam tonight and the overflo gates are open. My car got a good wash. Pouring mud and 222 to port deposit is closed. I doubt if the river will be fishable this weekend. Was at deer creek and the water is up to the 4ed or 4th stair by the bridge. With the rain coming will probably be at least 5-6 days before it's even safe. Hope I'm wrong but I don't think so.
