Is this a consistent problem?

Are the motors under warranty? Despite Yamahas generally having great reliability, it is a known problem with some models. Search THT for "making oil"...

It appears that is a constant problem now. I performed a few items recommonded by a repair shop and initially it seemed to correct the problem. I ran it for wo days and parked it. I checked the oil level and all was good. I retirn two weks later and check the oil and all is not good. It is about 1-2 quarts over full with gas. Now it appears it is happening while it is parked.

This is a typical Yam 225 4S problem. You might check at The Hull Truth website ... they've had several "making oil" thread recently.

This is not a typical Yamaha problem unless the correct maint. has not been done. We have several hundred of those engines we maintain with many having 2000-9000 hours on them.
The things I would ask are do you run ringfree in your gas, have you run a shock treatment lately and not changed your oil/filter afterwards, when is the last time your thermostates and PCV's were changed, are you using a full synthetic oil in your engine, are you having a certified dealer check your engines yearly with the laptop to ensure the injector duration is correct[depris is not sticking one open] ?
