My wife wants to get several dozen ears of corn in the next week or two.
She used to go up to Pennsylvania for that but doesn't have the telephone
number of the farmer where she got it. There used to be several
roadside stands on Kent Island to buy corn and other veggies. Are the
KI stands still there? Used to be a couple on Rte. 8.

Any other suggestions?

Not sure where you are - a local farmer in Millersville - PaPa John farm , provided the corn to Wish a Fish last Saturday. 25 dozen ears and everyone of them was sweet.

The farm is 1/4 mile off interstate 97 on New Cut road. Roughly 5 miles south of BWI airport. Very large store/barn with plenty of fresh produce.

They're still there. One on Rt 8 just past the airport on the right, a couple on Rt 18 through historic Stevensville and Chester. There's a farmers market on Saturday morning in the park behind Rustico. Also, I bet Mark Fischadler can probably provide the whole famdamily with all the home-grown tomatos ya'll want! ;-)

I know where Papa John's is but presumed their prices would be a little
higher, but perhaps not. FYI, I'm in the People's Republic of Glen Burnie
and used to live in Severn about 17 years ago. Thanks again.

Shawn: thanks for the confirmation.

If you weigh in the toll and fuel - bet PaPa John's price is in line with others. He really helped out WAF so I try to repay the favor. I grew up in that area and watched 7-8 farms become McMansions. Always try to buy from them - plus they have killer sno balls for the kids .

Nothing else - see if he will match the price.

We get our corn from a farm very near Annapolis Mall (Rt 178 just north of Bestgate). It is always delicious and is delivered fresh daily from the Eastern Shore.

I get a lot of veggies (cukes, tomatos and green peppers from
Papa Johns. Nice people too.

Thanks for all of the replies.

Where to find pick your own farms and orchards in the eastern shore of Maryland for fruit, vegetables, pumpkins and Christmas trees. (http://pickyourown.org/MDeast.htm#listings) Some of these places will offer pick your own corn . You'll have to call and ask . There are roadside stands all over the place just outside of Salisbury , most with the "Honor Box" policy . I do have a farmer friend that I've been getting some very nice corn from but he's not growing it . He's getting it from a friend. I paid $3.00 a bakers dozen a few weeks back
