Hi all. Normally on the Chesapeake board but hoping for some help here. I'm traveling to Hilton Head area - Bluffton to be more exact - closest water looks like the Colleton River.... going at the end of July with the wife and 2 daughters. I'd like to do some fishing while I'm there. I'd planned on surf fishing but as I look at the map I'm wondering is the Colleton River easily accessible by car/foot and what might I target there? or should I head to the surf on HH, and what's biting there? Appreciate any replies.

Rexking,
I'm in the same situation...I'm a Montauk striper surf fisherman for 25 yrs and I'm taking my first trip to HH next week with the family.
I have no idea what equip to bring nor what I'll be fishing for.
I've been trying to do searches on the web, but no real luck yet...Hoping someone respoonds to your post.
Good luck,

If you are in the Sea Pines area of Hilton Head try the lagoons, I have caught a good number red drum and even a few flounder.
