Good evening all. I'm from MD, but I'm heading down to Florida for the second and third week in June. I have easy access to fish the Middle River, but I could make it to surrounding areas. I don't know the area too well but I was wondering what I could catch and what I should be using. In past trips, I have caught a ton of Blue Runners and a couple small jack. I used a white bass assassin on an ounce jig headd and used a slow retrieval. Any help?

You can fish tarpon/snook in the inlet and Port everglades. You can go just outside the port to the end of the Jetty where the current shifts and cast Swimbaits, and Live Shrimp (either a small weight or none at all). It can be rough out there depending on boat traffic, but you can cast towards the jetty and ALL in that area. You can also go just south of the Port to the warm water canal, and cast live shrimp.

Casting live pilchards is always a good option for tarpon, especially at night around some of the marinas and docks with lights.
