Having a hard time with a name that SWMBO and I can agree on . The pup is a female. We are both lovers of blues music and I was thinking of naming her after a few of our favoritw women blues artists . These are the names I've come up with and who inspired them : Koko (Koko Taylor),Bonnie (Bonnie Raitt) , Susie ( Susan Tedeschi),Jessie (Jessie Colter) although not a true blues artist , an original outlaw along with her husband Waylon Jennings) and believe me , this little pup is proving to be just that:yes: . I've entertained many other names but just can't decide on one just yet . Any suggestions ?

Give it a few days - the dog will name herself. She will do something or look at you just right and the name will come to you.

Already thought of Lucy , Lucille is the name of BB King's guitar . Thought of Billie too as SWMBO loves Miss Holiday and we have many recordings of her . Please keep them coming .

I've been leaning really hard towards Lucy or Susie. As Skip mentioned , maybe she will do something to name herself . I honestly can't remember such a well behaved , loving pup like this one . She truly is a blessing .:)) Tubby , if you are reading this , my thanks go out to you for such a wonderful gesture . You have really made us very happy with this new addition to our family . My cats are not the happiest campers at the moment , but are slowly coming around . They are indoor cats and have never been exposed to other creatures so they are a little freaked right now . I'm sure over time that they will all be good buddies .

I had neighbors with two cats: Howlin' and Wolf. Other great dog names I know of: Diggity, Barkley, and Chewy. But you want feminine blues names. How about Etta for Etta James. How about Tracy for Tracy Chapman, or Retha for the one and only Aretha Franklin.

You are certainly welcome. I am glad you are happy with her. Bailey after Bailey's Irish Cream matches her color and
Mildred Bailey, the "Rockin' Chair Lady," began her singing profession demonstrating sheet music songs for individual customers in Seattle, Washington, when she was 17 years old. She would then go on to spend her entire career singing in the same intimate, person-to-person manner. Rather than shouting, scatting, or employing gimmicks, Bailey honored a wide variety of lyrics and melodies with her perfect diction and delicate voice, enchanting each listener who came under her spell. Some critics have questioned whether Bailey was truly a jazz singer or simply an exceptional pop singer. Nonetheless, her influence on generations of jazz vocalists who followed is unquestioned. Considered the first female microphone singer, Bailey taught the next generation how to use this new technology.

The Mole family was just waking up when a wonderful scent blew into their den. They rushed to the entrance and Mama and Papa blocked the hole as they sniffed. "I smell pancakes and syrup" squealed Mama. "I smell waffles and honey" proclaimed Papa. As he struggled to reach the open air, Junior cried "All I smell is Molasses."

Ow, that even hurt to type !
