I am getting ready to add a Garmin 4010 chartplotter/fishfinder to our 29 foot boat. There are so many different transducer options, I don't even know where to begin. I do know I want a thru hull and will use it primarily for fishing. Any words of wisdom, especially from anyone who has one of these units on their boat?:helpsmilie:

Airmar b60 if you are in the Chesapeake Bay, b164 if you are in deep water (like the Atlantic Ocean).

save yourself the hassel of a through hull and garmin alltogether, go with a lowrance or eagle, hummingbird will corrode easily and give you more headaches. the thru hulls unless you have a good spot to put one down and youve allready baught the garmin then go with the b60 and or the b164.
