After getting skunked the other night I set off this morning to try trotlining crabs for the first time and it was a total disaster. I dont think my boat (18 Sea Pro) was the best for the job. After looking at many different types of crab pots I am confused and realize I dont know anything about them. If anyone has any input as to what type of crab pot is both economical and effecient I would greatly appreciate it.

You want traps , not pots . An 18 foot CC is fine for running a trotline if you've got it set up right . Talk to Ida Mae on this board . Here is a link for quality gear : Captain Bruce's Crabbing Supplies (http://www.stackablecrabtraps.com/store.html)
