1) I have two topics does anyone run 2 micron filters in their racor or in my case Suzuki fuel/water separators? The norm I believe is 10 micron and at what size will water be removed?

2) I've had issues with the float on the arm type sending units is there a better option at a reasonable price? Thanks Jon

1. Size doesn't matter for removing water. Water is removed via a membrane.
2. No, unless your idea of reasonable is much different than mine. I use GPS to track distance...but I know my boat very well. Floats aren't reliable enough for me.

That is what filters any crap in the fuel. The water is heavier the gas so it's not filtered out per say it's allowed to seperate from the fuel and collect in the bowl, if you have one. 10 microns will filter object out of your fuel too small for you to even see.

I have a different sending unit but it's all relative what you call reasonable. I have been working on a new unit that works off a new technology. It will soon be on the market. Several boats in the area have been testing it for the past two years. We are down to finishing the tooling. Everything will be made in the USA. No crap from China. Here is the kicker, you are looking at $300. The good news is, if you look at the big picture, it senses water in your TANK before you leave the dock, it's as accurate as you set it up to be, it's solidstate, you cut it to fit and I back it up for 10 years of use. This will work in any tank 24 inches or less. It can handle any wiring system either 90 or 240 OHM, Mercury, Honda, Johnson, Yamaha, etc. You even get an independent fly bridge wiring harness. No more switches and you calibrate each on their own. Call me and I can tell you more about the project. I'm happy to say, it's more than just R and D FINALLY!

i have a 2 micron racor filter in mine, at the time it was the only one i could get that that had a drain on the bottom of the bowl that i could get any visable water out. it has always worked fine.
the arm in my boat is junk ,a 100 gal tank with the sending unit installed up foward it gives bogas readings constantly, so i installed a NAV-
MAN fuel monotor and that thing works GREAT. I can't live without it.
