i had the same problem ,,, and that is there is a power wire that goes to the antenna that has to be connected ,,,, the lowrance antenna requires power before it will work ,, crazy i know but that should do it

I had same problem. I tested the wires per the Lowrance website and found mine to be a faulty Network cable which supplies power to the GPS Antenna. I just ordered the cable, I will let you know how that works out.

also a very high possibilty it's the "T" connector. tap on the connector the next time the sgnal goes out. if that corrects the problem, call lowrance. they'll send you a new one nqa. i had the same problem. swap out wire-for-wire.

Is there a fuse between the head unit and the GPS module on the network cable?

Buddy of mine has the same unit I have. He is gettting GPS not responding. I took his "head unit" and put it on my boat with my wires and anteanna, and it still says GPS unit not responding. There for, there is a problem in his head unit. I guess it could be a series of things wrong with yours. If you have someone else that has the same or simular unit, give it a try. I have a bad transducer. I put my head unit on his boat and it works fine, but on mine it gets a grey distorted bottom. i have been told that the transducer gets weak. I just ordered a new tranducer. I hope this helps....Good luck....BW

I had the same message with my GPS module ("puck" antenna) when I attached it to my Lowrance chartplotter. Similar to what the guys said above, the GPS must be powered by a different set of wires. I already have a radar attached to my chartplotter and the radar wiring includes the NMEA (for the GPS) power supply wiring.

Had same issue with LCX 26hd. I updated the software and have not had the problem yet.

I had the message once before and disconnected and reconected the cables and it worked.

Lowrance has a good self support page on thier website.

I have a GPS 3000 hooked to my Lowrance LCX-28HD and I got the same message. Problem was............you have to have the power supply to the GPS turned on. It doesn't run to the GPS though; it is part of the NMEA wiring.
