Left Rudee Inlet on the "Jesus Freak" at 4:30am on Saturday morning, heading towards the 050 line, looking for a temp break that seemed to come apart as the day progressed. Set down in 25-30 fathoms, 68 degree water and trolled SE through temp changes and weed patches for most of the day. Picked up 8 gaffer dolphin, 7 of which came from a weedline that was just starting to come together. Continued SE wanting to see how warm the water got, trolled within sight of a nice blue marlin who was just finning on the surface in 71.5 degrees. Made it out to the 100 fathom line around the 000 and just below, found some really warm 72.5-73 degree water with lots of bait suspended 100 feet below. At noon our short rigger came tight with a white marlin make several jumps behind the boat. Quick work on the 50 and she was behind the boat for a perfect release. Trolled for another hour in the same area, covered with bait, large rays and pods of dolphins but no more pullage. Great trip....thanks Tom, CB, Austin, Lee (first trip offshore & White Marlin release) and Caroline. VB is getting hot!
