Anyone have any feed back on Northstar's Fuel Management meter in comparison to a Floscan? Appears they are about half the price and do the same thing. Thanks

Lowrance LMF 400 or LMF 200 guages are the best buy and are almost unlimited in what they can output. Installed on my boat in 2005, works great.

The Floscan is supposed to be of higher quality & more accurate because it has jeweled bearings; I tested both (along with a Yamaha fuel flow meter) and found that the Flosca was a hair more accurate at very low flow (under 1 or 1.5 gph) because at the very low flow rates the Northstar (formerly branded Navman) and Yamahas both would show zero intermittently. At any rate higher than that, they all were very accurate (always within 3 or 4 percent of each other, usually within 2 percent.) So, if you want dead-on numbers when trolling and you have a small motor that doesn't burn much at slow speeds, you're best off with the Floscans. Otherwise, the other models work very well.

My father has the lowrance on his 27 Judge with twin 130 hondas and hasnt been nearly as impressed with the floscan he had on his previous boat with a single inboard as far as accuracy goes.

My merc smartcraft has been nearly dead on...
