The year round population in ALL the keys is less than 20,000...compare that to one city up there...plus there are so many resources for finding info if one looks for it that a person could easily get sensory overload

Key Colony Beach Marina has some good Captins for offshore. Reel Easy is awsome, I am not sure if they are in town or not.

Me and the wife went out May 6,7 with Capt Jimmy Gagliardini for two evenings out of Marathon . It was our first ever Tarpon trip and he made it a good one. You didn't say what you would like to catch but I know tarpon is not the only thing he goes after. Anyway goodluck with whatever you decide. #305-395-0915

Head a little further North to Islamorada or Key Largo and you have the FL Bay, the Everglades or off shore possibilities.

I second Bill Welder. He is originaly from AA Co and move to the Keys many years ago. I used to hunt and fish with Bill and his dad and can tell you you will not find a better person.

Capt Jack out of BIg Time or Mike Biffle (Two Conchs website) are the best there in my book, and Jimmy Gig in an earlier post is a super guy to fish with.
Going there myself for a week starting 7 Feb. My brother is there now for this week.

There is a charter fleet in Marathon called the Main Attraction. They have three boats. They are one of the best charter fleets in The Keys. I have fished with them before. They are located in Key Colony Beach (beginning of Marathon). They guarantee fish! There should be great mahi action in June.
Islamorada has a boat called Catch 22 out of Bud n Mary's Marina. This is another great fishing team.
Good luck!
