Seems like forever since I saw a real live report on the Flyboard from semilocal waters...
So.... Went to the CBBT on Sunday for a trip with Chris Newsome. Trip probably cost me a new 23 foot Jones Brothers since I LOVE that boat of his.. (Boat envy is ugly)
We caught loads of stripers... smallest was probably 21 inches or so... largest was a bit over 40... ALL of those babies were FATTIES... Simply gorging on small baits. We were doing ok on a 1/2 and 1/2 then Chris broke out the small Surf Candy tied on a #2 hook and we went to town on thos fish... They were feeding on such small bait that even this bait might have been a bit big... (No kidding) Catching a 40 incher on a #2 is simply awesome...a first for me with such a small fly... All in all maybe ten fish over 30 inches, five or so at around 32 to 35 and the biggest at 40. What a day.
I highly recommend taking advantage of this warm weather and give it a try.
Kind of a nice way to start out the year. As soon as I can figure out how to resize pictures I will add them.
