My friend and I fished the Little Juniata outside of State College, PA on Saturday (1/5). We each caught 2 fish. He landed a very nice rainbow 15+ inches. The browns were all 10-12 inches. All caught on small egg patterns.

Fished the Hidden Valley special regs section on Monday the 8th. Caught two small browns in the morning then found some rainbows that turned on later in the afternoon. Landed 6 nice fish in 10" to 12" range with as many spontaneous releases. Tuesday fished Back Creek special regs section. Water was low and fish were spooky. Managed two browns on a bead head streamer then with the unseasonable temperatures that day switched over to a long leader and dry fly. Found a long run and managed 5 rainbows until I snapped off my fly. Called it a day and headed back. Nice way to start the year and relieve the case of shack nasties that was starting to set in. Tight lines.
