I hit the Wye yesterday at Drum Point and caught one crab. Moved to the mouth just a little south in Eastern Bay and caught just a little shy of a bu. This time last year I did well in the
Wye. It seems like it is slow all over. The ramp at the landing was packed for a Monday, I talked to one crabber who caught only 2 doz. and another had only 18! Usually I catch a lot of females this time of the year. Yesterday I caught 10. I guess I'll try the Pax next week, however it also seems slow. ( had a blowout on a trailer tire on the Bay Bridge in the am, Talk about a nightmare!)

I've been wondering the same thing. The water temps are still really warm for this time of the year, but it seems that the crabs are headed for their mud nap already. Maybe they know something that we don't? Strange year for sure. The Pax was producing some crabs as of last weekend, but still slower than I thought it would be.

I've been getting "some" crabs out of Broomes, but not what you would expect. It was starting to get going nicely before the NW blow about 10 days ago. I agree Jamie, that fairly week NW front really shut down alot of areas for some strange reason.

Went solo and worked quick to get home in time to see the Raven's debacle  and got a basket of good 1's and 1/2 basket of FM/2's SUN in 3 hrs: Should have stayed and grabbed another basket.

I haven't been spending the time on the water to look around, so maybe the mother load is there if you want to search. :D

Best depths last trip, w/o pulling up and searching were 9' -12'.

I'm hanging in there til at least NOV and will give the discharge at Benedict last trip look before calling it and heading home.

Crabs are good quality so it's certainly worth a look if your not after great numbers.
