Can't really help you with private land, but I used to hunt PrettyBoy Res. Awesome hunting, lots of deer. But like any other public area, sometimes you have to walk a mile to get them.

Call Gwynnbrook WMA. They've got lots of info on public land in Balto, Carroll, Montgomery, Harford, Howard and Cecil Counties. Some require a permit some don't.

Get a map of the area and go to the "back" side of the reservoir property. Either side off of Nicodemus Rd. used to be pretty good.

Oakland mill rd and Bollinger mill road areas are good.

Try Bicycling the many fire trails, to get back in there.

Bigd, there are tons of deer up there. If you want to see a HUGE increase in daytime activity as well as the number and quality of deer, take note of were everyoe likes to park and hunt and either get much deeper or try to get to the backside of this area from a differant road with a longer hike. You'll see plenty of sign close to the roads and feilds but the deer do get significant pressure and learn to retreat way back were there is less or they stay put but move very little during the day on heavily hunted areas. A topo map crossed with an areial phot will help tremendously. Also, try Prettyboy res. it is chock full of deer and some very nice ones at that. Two years ago I had a P&Y 8pntr at 17yds but couldn't draw, he eventually spotted me a few minutes later and bolted.

PS.........DON"T OVER LOOK VERY SMALL PUBLIC WOODLOTS, these locations usually get passed by and recieve little pressure. Also, focus on bow only area's during the gun season........the deer know :)

Lastly, THANK YOU!
