decided to try my luck with the small Tarpon ( 4-5 ft) and the nice Permit that have been coming up on the flat that is literally out behind where I now live, grabbed a 15lb spinner and some leadered hooks and went to the water, grabbed my crab bucket out of the water and started fishing..had some luck and enjoyed it...
BUT NOW comes the high point... about an hour after full dark I notice a glowing green dot in the water at my feet...now I'm accustomed to seeing the glowing eyes of Shrimp and Lobsters when I shine a light in the water, but these were glowing without any outside source...so I take out my micro led light and shine it on the water on the green light and at first I didn't see anything then I realize I'm looking at a small jelly about 4-5 inches across and in its bell is this glowing green dot...BRIGHT NEON GREEN...then another lights up right next to it and I realize they are coming up off the bottom in like 6 inches of water at my feet and as they reach the surface they light up...then I look out at the flats which go out several hundred yards and as far to my left as I can see....the entire flats is lit up with these jellies...the water is literally glowing and shimmering as they floated along on the tide...this all took place in less than five minutes...then like someone threw a switch...gone...poof...not one to be seen...all is pitch black again...just the stars reflecting on the flat water...gotta love mother nature...
