Some pictures of my T/C Encore

I've been getting so amped up for hunting, it's not even funny. I've been shooting my bow like a nut. I finally got my new Encore barrel's forend and scope. It is now lined up and shooting like a champ. I can't wait.

I wish I had a picture but my camera's memory card went full on me before I could snap a few off, but here are the specs on my bow.
- Martin Jaguar Magnum
- Cobra Side Winder fiber optic sight
- Limb Savers limb dampeners and stablizer bar
- 55lbs draw
- Beman ISC Hunter 500 26'' arrows
- Muzzy 125gr 3 blade broad heads.

My T/C Encore, which is pictured below, goes like this.
- Thompson Center Encore with synthetic stock in Advantaged Timber HD camo (was only on early Encores before they switched to Real Tree)
- .300 Win Mag barrel
- w/ Nikon Pro Staff 3X9X40 silver scope
- w/ Leupold dual dove tail mount and rings
- Remington Core Lokt 180gr bullet sighted in dead on at 100yds , 2'' low at 200yds
- 50X209 muzzleloader barrel
- w/ Simmons 3X10X50 black scope
- 150gr Pyrodex pellets
- Power Belt bullet (green, forgot the weight)

I can't wait to walk into the woods with these bad boys this year. :cool2:

That is really a nice looking setup and very effective, I have the Encore in stainless with black stock and a black 3x9 scope, after saving my hard earned money I bought it 4 years ago and have been lucky enought to get a few does and one 7point (personal best) buck with the gun, the buck was only a seven yard neck shot and it dropped hard. I use 100 grain of pyrodex and a 240 grain bullet in mine.
Where did you get your other barrel from and what kind of money did you spend?
The plan was supposed to be that I would buy a barrel every year or so but I haven't got one yet. I wanted the 20 ga and the .22 t oswap around but it is alot of money.

Nice looking set up you got there. I have one just like it in .300 WM and muzzleloader, I like to shoot Hornady 150gr SST in my .300WM but haven't shot the muzzleloader yet, guess I will get to real soon. Have shot game up to the size of Moose with those 150 SST's and can't say enough good about them or the Encore, fell in love with both of them.

Thats a nice setup. My father purchased the TC Encore Pro Hunter this year and that thing is a dream to shoot. I have been shooting knights muzzleloaders for years and this thing is hands down the cream of the crop. Maybe one day I can afford one, Im still recovering from my new scope (Burris 4-16 Signature) i got this year. Good luck with the TC Encore its a nice looking setup. :yes: :thumbup:

raabman - The .300 WM barrel was a gift for Christmas, but it's a T/C brand barrel that I know was purchased from E. Arthur Brown Company (eabco.com) for $266. The forend ran me $50 off of an auction on Gun Broker (Gunbroker.com). The scope ran $169 and about $30 in the Leupold mounts at Bass Pro.

I'm really looking into getting a 6mm barrel for it. T/C discontinued the 6mm since the .243 is pretty much just a toned down version. Midway USA (midwayusa.com) still has them in stock though. I've seen in person how the 6mm shoots and was very, very impressed. If I don't buy it soon they will be long gone for sure. I will probably just wind up buying either a .243 or a .270.

Question for the Encore owners. A friend of mine just purchased an Encore muzzleloader. He took it out and shot it about 10 times to see how it shot. His group at 25 yds. was about 5 inchs. Totally unexcepable. What loads and type of bullets are working best in these gun? One other thing. He shot 777 powder. Not sure what bullets.

While looking at the gun I notice little brown specks on the finish. This is a stainless barrel and receiver. The brown specks would not rub off. Appeared to be rust. Anyone had this experience with these spots. I thought 777 is suppose to be non-corrosive.

Any help would be appreciated.

When I first tried sighting my muzzleloader in I was using 100gr of Pyrodex and a 295gr bullet. It wouldn't group AT ALL. After trial and error, I switched to using 150gr of Pyrodex and the same 295 Power Belt bullet. I can hit within a 2-3'' ring at 100 yards.

The first time I took the gun out it was damp and misting rain. My stainless got the same brown spots all over it. I used regular gun cleaner and a brillow pad (recomended by TC) and it took them right off. I've never had it happen again.
