Teal Sightings?

What areas do you typically find bluewing teal in virginia. (saltwater,creeks,small ponds,tidal rivers,hydrilla beds) I have killed a few in the october season, but I don't know that i have ever seen any in September.

cool usually don't see them until sept 14-18 must be early this year.

didn't see any in Dorchester, plenty of woodies though. ID your targets before pullin up.

I fished a tourny last week on the Hudson river and saw hundreds of of Bluewings, so there heading south.

I HUNTED LOWER VA BEACH YESTERDAY AND DIDN'T see 1 SINGLE TEAL!!!!!! AND THEN SCOUTED FOR 5HRS INTO EVERY CREEK AND MARSH I COULD FIND AND NOTHING TO BE SEEN. How did anyone else do?

Think this little shot of cool air pushed the bluewings out of our area. Saw just a couple of birds yesterday.

Hunted the Chickahominy Monday and Tuesday mornings. Saw one flock of Bluewings off in the distance, that is it. They were here, now there gone. Covered up with wood chickens.

Was fishing the lower Susky last night. At dark, saw several squadrons teal (I think GW, heard a high-pitched quack) coming down the pipe escorting mallards on the way to the flats.

I agree with Salty Ducks. We saw 1500 last Friday. Hunted yesterday, shot a limit but it was not as fast and furious as it could have been and we only saw about 100. But fun was had by all. We shot 6 BW and 2 GW saw lots of woodies but not a lot of big ducks.

Glad somebody saw some ducks. I hunted Taylors Island yesterday along with 4 other groups. No shots fired and No teal seen by any of the groups. Only a handfull of big ducks seen. I need to figure where you guys that post on here shoot your limits. God bless you guys it just hasn't happened in my duck log yet. Back to fishing until the October season.

Typical................all the ducks are in the same locations.

It has been my delema for years...............we dont have the same problem with deer...........they know how to spread out!!!!!

It's looking alot like doves again this week-end.

Shot a few more on Friday morning and saw some nice flocks. I thinks a lot have moved on to the south. Angus had an article in the post today about teal that sounded like they got into them.

Picked up 9 blue wing and 5 green wing on an impoundment in southeastern Hanover County Va this morning...one banded blue wing.
