Opening Day Geese and Dove!

We took 27 total and had a awesome dove hunt Too, how did everyone do?

We ended up with a limit for all for all 4 of us for 48 total. Going again on Monday, man that was fun.

Took a 13 yr. old girl on her first dove hunt. She managed to get 6 for 50 shots. Not bad for the first time. Had to give her a few pointers, but she killed the 6 anyway. Had a 12 yr. old boy that got his limit. It was his first time also. Plenty of birds, but they didn't start to fly until around 3:00.

The girl had to go out to dinner with family. I managed to get my limit before days end.

Sounds like you got them off to a good start. More them likely they will remember it or part of it the rest of their lives.

i took my 11 year old stepson saturday and we killed our limit. it was his first dove shoot and he had a blast:clapping2: he killed his limit with just a little help from stepdad.:thumbup: since saturday he has been on my rear about a second dove shoot:wacko: :wacko:

When I was a kid I heard several old timers say its all about the kids. I see what they meant now. I had more fun watching the kids shoot than I could ever have shooting myself. If you could have seen the look on the young ladies face when her first bird came down. It was priceless.
