I'm looking at picking up a new scope (3x9x40) for my .270 and was hoping to get some feedback on which way to go. I'm currently looking at a Leupold Rifleman ($169), a Nikon Pro Staff ($149), Nikon Buckmaster ($199) and a Burris Fullfield II ($199). My gut tells me to go with the Leupold but I thought I'd ask for some opinions. Thanks!

I got a Leupold VX-III last year, 3.5-10 x 40 and absolutely love it. Check out the VX-1 in addition to the Rifleman - I have a buddy that has the VX-1 and has very positive feedback on it as well. The Leupold factory reps at the BPS Fall Hunting Classic last year were very helpful in answering my questions, not pushy at all. Lifetime guarantee and awesome optics - just what most hunters are seeking...

They're all reliable scopes - pick the one you like the best after looking through them.

I have used a lot of scopes and I just cant say enough about the Burris. I have the 4-16 signature series, and this scope is awesome. By the way the warranty is unbeatable. My 7mm ultramag took a fall last year and broke the stock, and the scope was damaged by the fall also. Sent it back to Buriss for repair and they sent me a brand new scope- no questions asked. Not many will stand behind their product even when its your fault. BTW I had my scope for six years before this happened and they gave me the newest model for this year at no charge.
