Russ, don't know how old it is...But it seems all of my 2-strokes eventually the filter in the tank[on the end of the fuel line]clog up and will do exactly what yours is doing.Enough fuel to idle, won't pass enough to run at higher rpm's.[Mike]

I'll check it out but this thing is less than one year old.

I have that same one, did fine for a couple yrs and when I left gas in it one time, the filter clogged, change it first, then make sure none of the idle screws have backed out

Not sure if this will help you but my mower man told me to run mid-grade gas or up since the new ethnanol gas has been introduced , since i been doing that alll my stuff has been running lots better.

Definitely sounds like it's gummed up a little somewhere. If the filter suggestion doesn't work, try running some Gum-Out through it. Make sure you use Stabil or some other fuel stabilizer over the winter.

I've gone through everything and I still can't get this darn thing to do anything but idle. I used stabil then drained that fuel and put fresh in. Any other suggestions?

Will it open up and run if you choke it and leave it choked? If so, it's gummed up somewhere. If that's the case, either take the carb apart and clean it or dump some Gum-out in the tank and run it. Can't help any more then that.

Make sure the fuel line isn't leaking or ripped. I had one that got a hole rubbed in it from vibration. It had the same problem as yours. So inspect all your hoses.

This could be a possibility!

If none of the above suggestions work, try pouring some SeaFoam in the tank.

First dump out all of the fuel and insert a few ounces of SeaFoam in the tank. With the ignition turned off and the choke closed, pull on the starter rope about ten times to get the SeaFoam inside the carb. Let sit for 15 minutes.

Add gas/oil mix to the fuel tank with the SeaFoam. Start the motor and let it idle for a few minutes. Try revving it up. If you do not have any mechanical problems (worn hose, etc.) this might cure problem. It has for me many times. SeaFoam is the best liquid ever put in a can for cleaning gum deposits.

had a 2 stroke one time that had a problem opening up , The exhaust was clogged up from the gas oil mix being to rich. It would idle fine but would not rev up.

Manchester near Westminster. My father lives right up the road so I've been using his for last few weeks. Now a deck project has busy but this thing is gonna get fixed one way or another. I DECLARE WAR on this POS!

Ive been out of the small engine business for a long time. but as stated in a previous post if the engine seems to respond with the choke on or half way on you can assume that the engine is not getting enough fuel. Look at the Carb it may have a mixture adj. screw or screws. You need to find the one that has a L stamp above it or its the only one. Try slowly turning the screw counter clock wise while hitting the throttle to wide open keep turning the screw as slowly as possible until the engine is allowed to transition to full throttle. If this unit has a diaphram type carb it may need a carb. kit. Carefully dissasemble the carb look mfor dirt or debris hard diaphramsor a sticking inlet needle. good luck. Theres a lot of possibilitys with a carb U might want to just get a complete carb. It sounds like a fuel related peroblem most small engine problems are even before E10 !
