Because of a promotion at work, I'm being transferred to South Carolina. I will be living about 1 hour from Myrtle beach. What's the fishing like in that area? I've never fished that area before ... what fish are targeted in the summer / fall?

I'm learning the waters around Little River inlet so I'm not sure I can be the best of help. But I can tell you the king mackeral fishing is really good once the waters warm as they are now. It should just start heatin up. If you fish the stream then it's awesome right now. I have a 22' Prosport CC w/200 hp Yamaha. With only an 85 gallon tank I haven't ventured out that far. I mostly fish within 15 miles. The ICW itself has great fishing for Reds, trout, flounder but you really need to fish around the high tide. Fish the mouths of creeks and around docks...Some say up near the sunset beach bridge is good but I haven't really got into any yet in that area.
I don't know if this helps but email me and I will tell you what I can. A good site to learn about the waters are thefishing reports on Ocean Isle Beach Fishing Center: Ocean Isle Beach Charter Fishing in Ocean Isle Beach, North Carolina (http://www.oifishingcenter.com) Those boys post fishing reports daily. Hope this helps....Larrygf
