Passing this along. FF
Dear fishing friends,
I'm not running for office, but I need your vote!
As many of you know, 3 years ago our National Capital Chapter of TU and the FFF Mid-Atlantic Council established Project Healing Waters (PHW) to use fly fishing and tying to provide healing, rehabilitation, and recreation to wounded military being treated at Walter Reed Army Medical Center. PHW has been a huge success and is currently being spread to VA and medical hospitals across the country. This success and rapid expansion is wonderful, but leaves PHW in great need of funding and resources to make it possible to bring the benefits of our program to literally thousands of wounded military men and women in many states.
For more info on PHW, see our website at Project Healing Waters Index (http://www.projecthealingwaters.org).
I'm not asking for a donation (though that would be great if you can), we need for you to go online and vote to make PHW the CBS News "Assignment America" featured story next week. The CBS Evening News broadcast tonight named PHW one of the 3 possible stories, and asked the public to vote for its favorite of the 3. The story with the most votes by Friday (tomorrow) night will be selected the featured "Assignment America" story to be aired next Friday night (a week from tomorrow). Obviously, that kind of national publicity, with info on how to donate, could raise large sums and much support for PHW's important work.
By Friday night, please log onto CBS News - Breaking News Headlines and Video from CBSNews.com (http://www.CBSNews.com), click on the "Assignment America" box on the home page, and vote for story # 1, "Fly Fishing for wounded vets." Only your first vote will be counted. We, and the wounded PHW participants, will greatly appreciate your vote. You help in getting many others to vote for PHW would also be genuinely appreciated. Many thanks.
I hope you've been out enjoying some tight lines lately.
George
