Magothy river still has crabs

People had left a couple of crab pots in the water at our community dock. I was going to pull them and set them up on the dock before Xmas but never got around to it. Went down this morning and pulled the first pot and found 6 crabs in it and a number of live fish. The second pot had 2 crabs and 2 huge yellow perch. Did my good deed by releasing everything as carefully as I could. Shocked to find the crabs as I gave up and stored my pot at least a month ago as it had been some time since I had found any crabs in it.

Season ended December 15th by regulation.

You did the right things by releasing everything.
The crabs have probably been in the trap a while too.

Are you sure you were in the Magothy? The Magothy never has crabs.;);) Its the worst place in Maryland to Crab!;);););)
