Anyone know where you can get these knifes? (Carvel Hall crab knife)

They had them last year at Salisbury Pewter, on Rte.50 just below Easton, next to the car dealer. Carvel Hall is out of business, but someone has the rights to the name and crab knives.

Do a Google search for Carvel Hall crab knives and you'll find several sources.

There's also a Casson's Crab Knife which actually looks like a better eating knife than the Carvel Hall. It's solid stainless steel, heavily made so it can be used as a mallet and not super sharp so you can eat with it and not cut yourself. It's made in Maryland (Bel Air I think).

Ray, you can get the 2 piece knock off that say carvel hall about anywhere for around $10.00, but it is junk. The tru pro by carvel hall is solid ss one piece construction. Keep on eye on ebay. The factory has been out of business for years, but tru pro's still surface. I got a dozen last year on ebay.;) Here are the pictures of the tru pro's that I have and the 2piece knock off junk knife. I was given the cheapies as gifts and have had good service with them but I sharpin all my knives frequently.

This post has educated me on CH knives and the originals and I must say they look excellent! Ill start keeping an eye out at flea markets and yard sales. Things like this end up getting sold cheap when folks dont know what they got.

Dave, that is a great idea. I know a guy who picked up some at a yardsale on the shore for next to nothing. I paid around $22.00 each for mine, but I have seen them go for $50.00 ea on ebay.

Carvel Hall knives are hard to find but there are repros out there. I picked some tru pro repros up at The Pink Flamingo in St. Michaels, around $10.00 each. They are one oiece stainless steel and made by Baltimore Tool. He supposedly has the dies from the original Carvel Hall knife and used to work there. It is a brushed stainless steel finish. Another fella is now making repro CH tru pro kives with a polished SS finish. Looks like the original.

Second to that.

Casson stuff is currently available thru many retailers online, you need to shop, because the prices vary at the retail level. (Don't pay more than $10 each if buying individually) Kits are available that include 6 knives, 6 crackers & 1 Oyster Knife & worth every penny.

Just received two of the gift sets from George Casson - I really like the look and feel (e-mailed him Monday afternoon, received the sets Weds. afternoon). I believe they are going to be much nicer then the Carvel Halls.
